Artist's Description

Seven miles north of Kayenta, Arizona is a sheer volcanic pinnacle that towers 1,500 foot in height. It commands a view of the entire Kayenta-Monument Valley region. This monstrosity of a rock is also know as El Capitan or just plain El Cap and is of important ceremonial significance to the Navajo people.
